Question 14/XI - Signalling System No. 7 - Protocol testing and test
specifications

Considering

(a) that experience with signalling networks utilizing Signalling System
No. 7 is evolving;

(b) that prior to introduction, a signalling point needs to be tested;

(c) that the signalling network, as a result of additions or
rearrangements needs to be tested;

(d) that signalling points need to be introduced in a timely and careful
manner;

(e) that there is a need for Testing Mechanisms;

(f) that the CCITT has Recommended Test Specifications Q.780-Q.783 for
MTP and TUP Testing,

What enhancements to existing Recommendations and development of new
Recommendations are needed to design and specify a Testing User Part and
also to produce Test Specifications to test other parts of Signalling
System No. 7 e.g., SCCP, ISUP, TCAP etc.?
