Question 23/VIII - Equipment characteristics and protocols for
audiographic conferencing (from Questions 19 and 26 of study
period 1984-1988)

Considering

- that Study Group I had classified teleconference services into two
groups of which one was defined as "Audiographic Conferences";

- that Study Group VIII has been studying new image coding which is a
part of graphic communication in "Audiographic Conferences";

- that Study Group XV has considered the "Frame Structure" for
application to audiovisual services (in particular, videophone,
videoconference, etc.), which combine audio with visual information;

- that Study Group XVIII has studied service and network interface
aspects applied to the ISDN and wideband speech coding algorithms;
