The standards on this server are being offered on an experimental, volunteer basis. The standards are being offered free of charge and we expressly waive all guarantees and warranties. If you want a guaranteed version of the standards, you MUST refer to the printed versions available for purchase from the International Telecommunication Union. The International Telecommunication Union has allowed dissemination of CCITT standards on the Internet and related networks on an experimental basis. You are free to make copies of any of these files and to permit others to make copies. You may NOT, however, charge in any way for those standards and you do not obtain any intellectual property rights in the standards. We would appreciate any comments you have on how this process can be made better. If you start offering a standards server on the Internet, we would appreciate being told about it. Any comments can be sent to standards@bruno.cs.colorado.edu. Please be aware that while your comments are welcome, we do not promise any guaranteed level of service. In particular, do not expect any demands for any particular standards or graphics that are not available to be met in any timely fashion. What you see is what you get. This experiment is possible through generous donations by many parties: First and foremost, we wish to thank the ITU for allowing us to make the standards available. Sun Microsystems generously provided a powerful server to house the standards as part of their Collaborative Research Program. The University of Colorado Computer Science Operations (CSops) group is providing system maintenance for the server. The University of Colorado Academic Computing Center assisted in conversion of VMS files. Colorado SuperNet provided a high-speed modem and access to the server. SRI and Apple donated useful software for the servers. Professor Michael Schwartz of the University of Colorado provided valuable programming assistance.
